1) Use books and online databases to conduct research. / Usar libros y bases de datos en línea para realizar             investigaciones.

 

2) Find relevant (on topic) information and integrate it into your writing. / Encuentre información relevante                 (sobre el tema) e intégrela en su escritura.

 

3) Properly cite your sources (give credit to the author). / Citar adecuadamente sus fuentes (dar crédito al autor).

 

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.8 Gather relevant information from multiple authoritative print and digital sources, using advanced searches effectively; assess the strengths and limitations of each source in terms of the task, purpose, and audience; integrate information into the text selectively to maintain the flow of ideas, avoiding plagiarism and overreliance on any one source and following a standard format for citation.

 

What is a database? / ¿Que es una base de datos?

 

-An organized collection of published works (newspapers, magazines, books, encyclopedias, etc.) that is searchable / -Una colección organizada de trabajos publicados (periódicos, revistas, libros, enciclopedias, etc.) que se puede buscar

 

Why use a database? / ¿Por qué utilizar una base de datos?

 

-A database collects information from CREDIBLE (trustworthy) sources / Una base de datos recopila información de fuentes CREÍBLES (confiables)

 

-Research for your essays, projects, reports, etc. / Investigación para sus ensayos, proyectos, informes, etc.
