What does a PSW do?
The primary role of a PSW is to provide student mental health services. We work alongside students, families, and teachers to help our Challengers develop healthy social-emotional skills so they can reach their life goals

How does a student see a PSW?
  • Administrative, staff, or teacher referral
  • Family referral
  • Referral by a friend
  • Student self-referral
Fill out a referral at bit.ly/mdhs-psw or visit us in the Library!

We ALL have mental health and we are to help!

We are proud to partner with the Los Angeles County Departments of Public Health and Mental Health, and Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles to host a Student Wellbeing Center here on our campus. The center, located across from the Main Office, offers youth-focused health and wellness education and preventive health care.

The Wellbeing Center (WBC) is a drop in space for students where they can De-stress in a safe, welcoming place on campus. Students can: seek info about healthy relationships, sexuality, drugs, anxiety, depression, among other health related topics. Students have access to free condoms and would be guided on how to access free birth control, pregnancy testing, emergency contraception (Plan B), STD testing AND treatment. Students are welcome to speak confidentially to a health educator or get connected to health services right here on Dymally’s campus. The WBC staff welcomes ALL students to come visit especially during nutrition and lunch.

Come visit the WellBeing Center Monday-Wednesday 8am - 4pm.

Sexual health services are available through Planned Parenthood at the Well-Being Center on Thursday 8am-4pm.

Find us across from the Main Office in Room 4!
